CNETE appoints Nicolas Viau as Organizational Communications Officer
Nicolas Viau is now part of the team as Organizational Communications Officer.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from McGill University and an DCS in Environment and Sustainable Development from Collège de Rosemont. Versatile and curious by nature, Nicolas is drawn to multidisciplinary projects. With an interest in energy transition-related issues, Nicolas will be responsible, for CNETE as well as in support of Escouade énergie (a group of TACs working on energy transition), for producing communications content related to projects and facilitating collaboration with partners. He will also represent CNETE and Escouade énergie at various events.
Before joining CNETE, he worked for over eight years as Special Projects Manager at a renewable energy start-up, an experience that left him quite familiar with Quebec’s rich cleantech innovation ecosystem.
Passionate about language issues, he also volunteers in the Esperanto world – Esperanto is a constructed language designed to be a fair international language which promotes linguistic diversity. He helped organize the 2022 World Esperanto Congress in Montreal, and was member of the organizing committee of the Montreal Language Festival, or LangFest, from 2016 to 2019, an event for the general public and gathering language enthusiasts. These significant experiences have strengthened his communication skills.
