CNETE announces the appointment of Mohamed Rahni as Chief Scientific Officer.
Mr. Rahni holds a Ph.D. in water chemistry and microbiology from the University of Poitiers in France. He then completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Laval University in the field of membrane filtration technologies. He joined the CNETE team in 2002 as a researcher. Over his 21 years at CNETE, he has been involved in over a hundred research and technology transfer projects related to membrane filtration technologies in various industrial sectors (agri-food, biotechnology, bioprocessing, waste and residue valorization, etc.). Mohamed has also participated in numerous R&D projects in collaboration with university research teams (Polytechnique Montréal, Laval University, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS)), and other college technology transfer centers (Innofibre, CEPROCQ, Kemitec, CTRI, Biopterre, etc.). In the course of his collaborations and R&D projects, he has contributed to the training of around fifteen university students at the master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels, as well as approximately thirty college students through training internships. He has received the Fernand Séguin Distinction from the Réseau Environnement for the excellence and rigor of the content of an article published in the Vecteur Environnement magazine, the award from the Association for Research in the College (ARC) and Hydro-Québec for contributions to technological research, and the recognition award from ADRIQ for successful collaboration with an industrial partner.
Mr. Rahni will be responsible for coordinating the development of major research directions and research projects in alignment with CNETE’s strategic orientations. Recognized for his precision, he will do everything possible to promote and coordinate them. He will accompany and supervise the alignment of needs with the actions of the research team. Firmly believing in the importance of the human aspect, he will ensure the integration of new researchers and the implementation of principles of diversity and equity.
