The CNETE welcomes Frédéric Couture-Martin as a content assistant in electrochemistry.

Frédéric Couture-Martin, who had previously joined our team as a research assistant, has been entrusted with responsibilities as a content assistant in electrochemistry for 10 hours per week since September 28th of last year.

He holds a DEC in Natural Sciences from CEGEP de Drummondville, followed by the completion of his bachelor’s degree at UdeM from 2004 to 2007, where he also conducted research internships. Subsequently, he earned a Master’s in Electro-Organic Chemistry at UdeS from 2007 to 2009, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Post-Secondary Education at UdeM from 2009 to 2010.

He began his professional career as a teacher at CEGEP de Saint-Jérôme and Sherbrooke in 2010, and then taught at CEGEP de Trois-Rivières between 2011 and 2014. In 2012, he joined CEGEP de Shawinigan, where he has been a teaching position for the past 10 years.

Outside of his work, he takes on the role of a father to four children, turning into a taxi driver when necessary. He is also an amateur agronomist in his wife’s garden. His hobbies include hiking, kite-surfing, tennis, squash, soccer, basketball, skiing, and he was part of the junior national swimming team at the age of 15-16, as well as the Carabins team at UdeM.

In his new role, he will be responsible for preparing the content of continuing education courses in the fields of battery materials and hydrogen, in addition to providing support to researchers specialized in electrochemistry. His tasks will include bibliographic research, the development of methods and protocols, laboratory testing, data compilation, analysis, and interpretation, assistance in report writing, as well as supervising interns.
